What Is NDIS Ordering?

NDIS ordering refers to the process of purchasing approved disability-related products using funds from an NDIS plan. These products may include continence supplies, mobility aids, sensory supports, or daily living essentials.
The way you place an order depends on how your NDIS plan is managed.
Types of NDIS Plan Management
Plan-Managed
If your plan is plan-managed, a plan manager handles payments on your behalf.
You can order products online
Select Invoice to NDIA at checkout
The invoice is sent to your plan manager
Your order is processed once payment is received
This option is commonly used and requires no upfront payment from you.
Self-Managed
If your plan is self-managed, you have more flexibility.
You can pay upfront using card or bank transfer
You can claim the cost back through the NDIS portal
You are responsible for keeping records and invoices
Agency-Managed
If your plan is agency-managed, ordering is more restricted.
Products must be NDIS-approved
Invoicing usually requires coordination with NDIS
Additional verification may be required
How Invoice to NDIA Works
When you choose Invoice to NDIA during checkout:
You provide your plan manager details
No payment is required at checkout
An invoice is generated instead of a receipt
The business contacts your plan manager
Your order is processed after payment confirmation
This process helps reduce upfront costs and simplifies purchasing for participants and carers.
What Products Can Be Ordered?
NDIS funding can generally be used for products that:
Are related to your disability
Support daily living or independence
Are included in your approved plan categories
It’s important to review product descriptions carefully to ensure they align with your plan.
Understanding GST-Free Pricing
Many disability-related products are GST-free when purchased under an eligible NDIS plan.
On product pages, you may see:
MRP (recommended retail price)
GST-free price
Your final payable amount
This pricing transparency helps you understand the value of your funding.
